๐ Hello there! Iโm Sunit Shrestha
Iโm a 3rd year Computer Engineering student at Pulchowk Campus with a deep love for science, math, and technology ๐ฌ๐๐ป. Ever since I can remember, Iโve been the kind of person who has to know how things work โ whether itโs peeling back the layers of an ML model or understanding the universe through the lens of physics and math ๐.
๐ What Drives Me
I live for those โaha!โ moments โ when an abstract concept suddenly clicks or when a messy real-world problem finds a beautiful solution. My curiosity doesnโt clock out. Whether itโs solving tricky competitive programming problems, diving into a CTF challenge, reading research papers, or building stuff for fun โ Iโm always exploring ๐๐.
๐ง Things Iโm Good At
- Problem Solving: Logical reasoning and mathematical thinking are my home turf ๐งฉ๐งฎ.
- Innovative Thinking: I love connecting dots across domains to come up with creative, practical solutions ๐ก.
๐ป Tech I Work With
๐ง Machine Learning
pandas, numpy, matplotlib, tensorflow, keras, pytorch, scikit-learn
๐ Web Technologies
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, PostgreSQL
โ๏ธ Cloud & DevOps
AWS, Docker, Linux, Git, GitHub
๐ฌ Current Work & Research
- ๐ฑ ML for Climate Change Policy: Working on research to apply machine learning techniques to help design and evaluate climate policies.
- ๐ฃ๏ธ Low-resource Language Modeling: Exploring the Newari language to build models for underrepresented linguistic systems.
- ๐ง Fluid Simulation with PINNs: Currently building a simulator using the Finite Volume Method, with Physics-Informed Neural Networks to enhance its accuracy and performance.
๐ฎ Fun Projects
- ๐ง Evolution Game: Designed a 2D ecosystem of organisms with different cell types and trained an AI for it using NEAT (a genetic reinforcement learning algorithm).
- ๐ช SimpleXWM: A minimal Xorg window manager that adds GUI functionality to the Linux terminal
- ๐ง Parallel CPU Architecture: Built a simplified multi-core CPU design to make it easier for students to understand both the circuit-level and conceptual layers.
๐ Outside the Curriculum
Even when itโs not part of the syllabus, youโll find me diving deep into relativity, reading about mathematical beauty, or tinkering with new tools. I believe curiosity is the ultimate teacher and that knowledge should be explored, not just acquired ๐ค.
๐ฏ Interests at a Glance
- Competitive Programming ๐
- CTFs & Cybersecurity Challenges ๐ก๏ธ
- Deep Dives into Science and Math ๐
- Building tools and simulations from scratch ๐ ๏ธ
